Job Description

Position Summary

The Production Floor Lead is responsible for coordinating and overseeing daily production activities to ensure operational efficiency, product quality, safety compliance, and timely completion of production schedules. This position serves as a working lead, providing guidance, support, and direction to production employees while partnering with management to achieve production goals and maintain a safe, productive work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate daily production floor activities to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
  • Monitor workflow and staffing needs to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Provide direction, training, and support to production employees on work processes, quality standards, and safety procedures.
  • Ensure employees follow established company policies, work instructions, and safety requirements.
  • Monitor production quality and address issues promptly to minimize scrap, rework, and downtime.
  • Assist with troubleshooting production and equipment-related issues and communicate concerns to management.
  • Verify that materials, tools, and equipment are available and properly utilized throughout the shift.
  • Conduct shift start-up meetings and communicate production priorities and expectations.
  • Maintain accurate production records and communicate daily production performance to management.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the department.
  • Assist with employee onboarding and training initiatives.
  • Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained throughout the production areas.
  • Assist management with production planning, scheduling, and workflow improvements.
  • Perform production duties as needed to support operational requirements.
  • Assist in other departments and perform additional duties as assigned.
