We tackle the most sophisticated legal challenges with bold ideas and innovative solutions, powered by the exceptional experience and ambition of our 7,000+ people, including 4,000+ attorneys, across 24 offices worldwide. Our dedicated professionals share our lawyers' commitment to excellence and show up each day to do meaningful work that helps drive global business, investment and innovation forward.
What You'll Do
Are you passionate about turning cutting-edge AI and data technologies into real-world solutions that transform how professionals work?
As a Platform Developer, Innovation Delivery, you'll join the Innovation team at Kirkland & Ellis and play a pivotal role in building AI-powered workflows on Palantir Foundry for practice groups across the firm. Working alongside Palantir Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs), you'll help evolve innovative prototypes into scalable, production-ready solutions that enhance legal service delivery and drive operational excellence.
This is an opportunity to own mission-critical products from development through adoption, helping shape the future of AI-enabled legal work while collaborating with technical and business stakeholders across a global organization.
โ€ข Build AI-powered solutions: Develop and support Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) workflows that leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) for drafting, extraction, analysis, and other high-impact business processes.
โ€ข Design data models and pipelines: Create and maintain Foundry Ontology objects, actions, functions, and production-grade data pipelines using Python, PySpark, and Structured Query Language (SQL).
โ€ข Develop business applications: Build operational applications in Workshop and create custom user experiences using the Ontology Software Development Kit (OSDK) with TypeScript and React.
โ€ข Integrate enterprise systems: Connect Foundry solutions with key business platforms including iManage, Intapp, Salesforce, matter management systems, and external data sources.
โ€ข Scale solutions into production: Strengthen prototypes through testing, monitoring, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), performance optimization, and documentation.
โ€ข Drive secure innovation: Implement data governance, auditability, access controls, and confidentiality safeguards to support sensitive business environments.
โ€ข Own products end-to-end: Take responsibility for workflow lifecycle management as solutions transition from implementation to long-term operational ownership.
What You'll Bring
โ€ข Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
โ€ข Experience: 3+ years of software, data, or analytics engineering experience, including data modeling, Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) or Extract, Load, Transform (ELT) pipelines, and large-scale integrations.
โ€ข Palantir expertise: Hands-on experience building and deploying solutions on Palantir Foundry and/or AIP, including pipelines, ontology modeling, and application development in production environments.
โ€ข AI and machine learning capabilities: Experience developing production-ready generative AI and LLM-powered solutions, including prompt engineering, model deployment, evaluation frameworks, and guardrails.
โ€ข Technical proficiency: Strong programming skills in Python, PySpark, SQL, TypeScript, and React, along with experience working in cloud environments such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
โ€ข Engineering excellence: Proven ability to deliver reliable, scalable solutions through testing, observability, CI/CD, performance optimization, and technical documentation.
โ€ข Ownership mindset: A self-directed approach with the ability to drive decisions, solve complex problems, and manage products through their full lifecycle.
โ€ข Preferred strengths: Experience with Palantir certifications, AIP Agent Studio, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), agentic workflows, MLOps or LLMOps practices, enterprise integrations, and secure handling of sensitive data. Familiarity with legal or professional services technology is a plus.
If you're excited to build AI-powered products, own solutions from concept to production, and help redefine how complex professional work gets done in this Platform Developer, Innovation Delivery role, we'd love to hear from you!
