Basic Purpose:

As a Product Specialist with Nexeo Plastics, you will be responsible for supporting the Commercial and Product Management teams by managing and evaluating pricing related transactions.  You will be responsible for screening price requests, processing qualifying requests, and escalating more complex opportunities to Product Managers when pricing exceptions or competitive intelligence is involved.  This role will assist with product management activities and providing analytical support to improve profitability and inventory performance.  This includes margin review, preparing supplier reporting, and helping to identify solutions for aged inventory.  The Product Specialist will also serve as a backup to Product Managers. 

Description of Primary Accountability or Responsibilities:

  • Tactical support of Product Line Managers to include:
    • Maximize overall segment profitability with an in-depth review of product cost, price supports, freight charges and customer price
    • Review and screen incoming price request transactions
    • Run and analyze supplier reports to support product line management, pricing decisions, and business reviews
    • Review aged/excess inventory and collaborate with sales and product management to identify strategies and customer opportunities to reduce excess or slow-moving stock
    • Provide purchasing input based on forecast, demand, inventory position, and business priorities
    • Serve as a backup support for Product Managers
    • Other tasks as assigned
  • Position Qualifications:
    • Bachelor of Business Administration or equivalent experience
  • Experience:

    • Experience in Business Warehouse, SAP is desirable, Salesforce
  • Skills:
      • Financial business acumen and analytical skills
      • Communication skills both verbal and written
      • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office tools especially Excel and Outlook
      • Must have the ability to manage time, organize and set priorities to meet deadlines
      • Applicants must be authorized to work in the US
