Job description

Job Title: Plastic Surgeon
Location: Lt. Col. Luke Weathers, Jr., VAMC 1030 Jefferson Avenue.
Position Type: Full-Time (Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery procedures within scope of VA privileges.

  • Evaluate and manage patients in outpatient clinic and inpatient consult settings.

  • Conduct pre-operative assessments and post-operative follow-up care.

  • Participate in surgical call coverage.

  • Document all care using VA’s CPRS system within 72 hours of patient encounter.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for coordinated care.

  • Supervise or coordinate with support personnel, including Physician Assistants.

Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Plastic Surgery.

  • Active and unrestricted license in any U.S. state or territory.

  • Minimum of one year of experience in plastic surgery practice.

  • Current BLS certification (ACLS may also be required).
