Purpose
To lead the staff execution of safe, efficient, and on-time production of quality material that meets customer requirements within budget guidelines. Motivate, mentor and model Blue Polymer Code of Conduct standards for all the production team members.
Areas of Responsibility / Tasks
Performance must reflect appropriate level of expertise and achievement of the desired results for the items listed below.
  1. General Policy
  1. Ensure all production record keeping is accurate and timely.
  2. Develops and plans tactical execution of strategic objectives within the facility.
  3. Actively lead team members to solve problems, promote uptime, ensure safety, quality and reduce yield loss.
  4. Work with all plant team members to promote, encourage involvement, and drive continuous improvement objectives with time saving, cost reduction, increased job rates and quality improvements.
  5. Coordinate and perform supervisor, team leader and production employee reviews to drive higher performance.
  6. Ensure daily production schedule expectations for volume, quality, and timeliness are met and perform root cause analysis for any undesired results.
  7. Implement corrective actions and preventative actions for all undesired production results.
  8. Coordinate with maintenance team on preventative maintenance schedules, equipment trouble shooting to reduce downtime and ensure optimal equipment operation.
  9. Coordinate and ensure proper staffing of shifts, accurate and timely timecard recording, certification training and ensure proper record retention.
  10. Ensure the plant is clean, orderly, and safe.
  11. Participate and coordinate with HR in employee interactions, as necessary.
  12. Coordinate with Warehouse Manager to evaluate inbound bale stock by adjusting production plan to keep safe and efficient stock levels.
  13. Work with Quality Manager to ensure customer requirements are being met and site conditions meet customer Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements at all times.
  14. Coordinate with Quality Manager and Customer Service Manager on any root cause analysis and corrective actions due to customer claims.
  15. Coordinate with Customer Service Manager to maintain appropriate stock levels of production consumables like extrusion additives and wash line chemicals.
  16. Drive Key Performance Indicator (KPI) improvements.
  17. Develop and ensure efficient and effective procedures for cleaning of production lines for product change overs.
  18. Participate in monthly budget reviews and drive improvements for all production cost centers.
  19. Follow all Quality, Safety, and Environmental procedures.
  20. Uphold the Blue Polymer Code of Conduct standards.
  21. Other duties, as assigned by Plant Manager.

Minimum Qualifications/ Education / Experience / Certifications
  1. Education:
  1. High School diploma or equivalent B.S. or B.A. degree is a plus.
  1. Experience:
  1. 5 years of manufacturing experience.
  1. Licenses / Certifications:
    1. Valid driver's license - required.
  2. Language:
    1. Proficiency in English required.
    2. Bi-Lingual - Spanish is a plus.

Work Environment / Conditions
