About Golden State Plastic Surgery

Golden State Plastic Surgery offers patients the highest level of care. Our Plastic Surgery Clinic offers a collaborative, patient-centered environment with outstanding clinical support, modern facilities, and a strong commitment to patient experience. You will support patients across the breadth of Dr. Shih and Dr. Seth's practices, which include cosmetic breast, body and facial surgery, gender-affirming facial and body surgery, and reconstruction after breast cancer and skin cancer. Dr. Shih and Dr. Seth see patients primarily in Walnut Creek, and also have a secondary clinic in San Francisco.

Essential Responsibilities – Patient Care Coordination & Surgery Scheduling

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for patients undergoing surgical or cosmetic procedures and guide them through the treatment process.
  • Educate patients on recommended surgical procedures, alternatives, risks, recovery timelines, and postoperative expectations.
  • Coordinate and schedule surgeries, including pre-operative appointments, surgery dates, and post-operative follow-ups.
  • Verify insurance coverage and assist patients in understanding treatment costs, authorizations, and payment expectations when applicable.
  • Provide clear, accurate, and detailed surgical price quotes, including explanation of fees, timelines, and available financing options when applicable.
  • Ensure completion of all required pre-operative documentation, consents, and clearances in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate post-operative care instructions, follow-up visits, and patient communications.

Helpful Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior experience in plastic surgery, dermatology, aesthetics, or healthcare strongly desired.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Sales-oriented mindset grounded in patient education, trust, and ethical advocacy.
  • Experience with EMR systems such as EMA, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms.
