Machine Operator - Injection Mold
Job Description
Machine operators at STI set up and operate an injection mold machine in order to shape plastic for our products. This position requires good mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills. As an injection molding machine operator, it is crucial to be able to monitor multiple tasks and follow detailed instructions in order to meet safety and quality requirements.
Responsibilities
  • All activities include use of proper PPE and safe operating procedures and maintaining a clean work environment.
  • Purging machines for production runs
  • Machine startup / shutdown.
  • Loading material and concentrate
  • Chiller and thermolator startup and shutdown
  • Unloading, trimming, inspecting, assembling and/or packing parts and labeling boxes.
  • Making boxes as needed
  • Run granulator, switch regrind barrels
  • Using ERP computer system to add molded parts into stock
  • Log scrap parts accordingly
Skills/Abilities
  • Works well as an individual and as a team member
  • Good attendance and positive attitude
  • Requires good mechanical/electrical/troubleshooting skills
  • Has the ability to monitor multiple tasks at once and to read and follow technical manuals
  • Must be able to safely and repeatedly lift 55-pound bags of material.
  • Must be okay with being on feet majority of the day and repetitive processes
