Job description

RMB Products is seeking an Aerospace Rotational Molding Operator works on a team assisting in the operation of rotational molding machines and production of plastic parts in a manufacturing setting, obtaining a quality product that exceeds the customerโ€™s expectations. The employee will ensure and verify each product meets quality standards and customer specifications. The Rotational Molding Operator performs the work on-site in a manufacturing environment. Overtime may be required for the position.

Essential Position Functions and Responsibilities:

This position includes, but not limited to the following essential functions:

  • Must read, understand, and follow work orders.
  • Will inspect, trim, repair, clean, and pack out all products produced in Rotational molding.
  • Must be capable of producing quality parts from trimming till the final pack out.
  • Perform operations under a sensitive-time duration process.
  • Set up machines to start production cycles; prepare molds by cleaning them, adding inserts, and other components.
  • Obtain correct powder and molds per work order; and fills buckets with the proper resin, dye, and/or weight to ensure quality of product.
  • Perform quality acceptance checks.
  • Install and/or remove pins and/or insert them into proper place on the molds.
  • Properly mount molds and lined products on proper machine arm
  • Receive, inspect, and return molds after work order is completed.
  • Maintain machine readiness with completion of daily and weekly preventative maintenance forms.
  • Stage and prepare production runs.
  • Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws.
  • Remove lined product from arm and trim off end caps.
  • Complete Production Documentation accurately.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Abides by all the policies, procedures, guidelines of RMB including conformance to good common sense safety practices and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements and Qualifications

  • Due to U.S. State Department restrictions on access to space technology, candidates must be "U.S. Persons" as defined by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) 22 CFR 120-130
  • Will have a willingness to learn and improve through on-the-job training.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions given out orally and in writing by the AS Value Stream Manager and/or customer expectations and requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and customer provided specifications.
  • Exhibits objectivity and openness to otherโ€™s views and contributes to building a positive team spirit.
  • Requires a flexible and cooperative attitude, which includes when asked to perform other duties or tasks that are not listed within this job description but within the scope of this position.
  • Requires communication skills both written and orally in the English language.
  • Requires excellent safety practices, which includes keeping a clean work area.
  • Interpersonal skills are essential and vital to maintain an organized warehouse.
  • Requires personal responsibility and accountability meeting workmanship standards with little supervision to complete assignments.
  • Must maintain the confidentiality of all projects, customers, and RMB.


Physical Requirements and Hazards

The employee will be required:

  • Standing: working with machinery for long periods of time
  • Repetitive movement
  • Lifting no more than 50 pounds alone and assisting in team lifts of more than 50 pounds
  • Each employee is to fulfill the work schedule, work hours, and productivity expectations of their supervisor and RMB.
  • An employee is to comply with established standards, policies and laws applicable to our business.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
