Job description

SUMMARY:

Reports directly to the Plant Manager and works collaboratively with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Purchasing, Customer Service, Sales, and Executive Leadership to ensure products consistently meet established quality standards while supporting operational efficiency, profitability, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Control Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving the facility's quality systems to ensure compliance with customer specifications, company standards, applicable regulatory requirements, and operational objectives.

DUTIES: 

  • Maintain and continuously improve the facility Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Develop, implement, and revise quality procedures, work instructions, forms, and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications, internal standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain document control and quality record retention systems.
  • Monitor quality performance metrics and establish improvement plans.
  • Develop quality objectives that support plant and company goals.
  • Oversee all inspection, testing, and product release activities.
  • Ensure compliance with product specifications, visual standards, dimensional requirements, and performance criteria.
  • Develop and maintain inspection plans, sampling plans, and testing protocols.
  • Lead, develop, and supervise Quality Technicians, Inspectors, and Quality Coordinator.
  • Establish department goals, objectives, and performance expectations.
  • Assist in maintaining plant readiness for announced and unannounced audits.
  • Maintain customer-required compliance documentation and technical records.
  • Other duties as assigned by the leadership team. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, Food Science, or 5 years of previous work experience in an injection molding Quality Control environment.
  • Minimum five (5) years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment, including at least two (2) years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Experience in plastics, injection molding, packaging, consumer products, or related manufacturing industries preferred.
  • Experience leading customer audits, complaint investigations, corrective actions, and process improvement initiatives. Strong understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC), root cause analysis, CAPA systems, and quality management systems.
