What is Plaster City?

Plaster City is an unincorporated community and industrial area located in Imperial County, California. It is best known for its large gypsum processing plant, operated by United States Gypsum Company (USG), which produces plasterboard and other gypsum products. Plaster City is also notable for its proximity to off-road vehicle recreation areas in the surrounding desert. Its name comes from the primary product manufactured there: plaster.

What are some of the common challenges faced by plasterers working on large-scale construction projects?

Plasterers on large-scale construction projects often encounter challenges such as adhering to tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality finishes, coordinating with multiple trades (like electricians and carpenters) to ensure surfaces are ready for plastering, and managing the physical demands of working on scaffolding or in awkward spaces. Additionally, adapting to varying site conditions and specifications requires a good understanding of both traditional and modern plastering techniques. Effective communication and flexibility are key to overcoming these challenges and ensuring smooth project progress.
