Job description

Electrical Engineer, Component Maintenance Optimization - Plant Vogtle 3&4
Job Summary
Component Engineers direct implementation of assigned programs and work processes. Major Programs include breakers, large pumps and motors, air or motor operated valves, I&C subcomponents, HVAC/chillers, heat exchangers, breakers, & snubbers as well as condition-based maintenance technologies such as vibration, thermography, motor monitoring, and oil analysis. Engineering tasks will include direct or indirect interface with the corrective action process and work scheduling, Component Engineers will be responsible for maintaining equipment reliability, ensuring regulatory compliance, have knowledge and application of industry best practices, budgets, and for the performance or oversight of inspections of plant equipment. Component Engineers typically look for long-term performance improvements and work on key refueling outage assignments. Engineering responsibilities will also include on-call Duty rotations and Emergency Plan response requirements.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program or PE License required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
A background in engineering with working knowledge of applicable discipline codes and standards.
Experience with motors, breakers, & relays 

An ability to solve problems and make sound engineering decisions based on experience and appropriate industry practices.
Previous experience in systems engineering, programs engineering, or component engineering preferred.
Experience with thermography, vibrations, valves, pumps, HVAC/chillers, heat exchangers, or snubbers a plus

Working knowledge in Nuclear Plant Systems, structures and components preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proven organizational skills with ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously.
Capable of working efficiently and effectively across organizations.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft office products, specifically WORD, EXCEL and POWERPOINT.
