What does a plant tech do?

A Plant Tech, short for Plant Technician, is responsible for maintaining and operating equipment in manufacturing plants or industrial facilities. Their duties often include monitoring machinery, performing routine inspections, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the plant runs efficiently and safely. Plant Techs may also assist with repairs, keep records of maintenance activities, and comply with safety and environmental regulations. They play a crucial role in minimizing downtime and ensuring production targets are met.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a plant tech, and why are they important?

To excel as a Plant Tech, you typically need knowledge of industrial equipment operation, mechanical aptitude, and at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
