Job description

Job Title

Position Summary Operates straight or articulated rubber tired tractor type vehicle equipped with front mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop to lift and transport bulk materials to and from plant or processing areas, to feed conveyors, hoppers, or chutes, and to load trucks and provide other support plant operations. Must abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely. Reliable attendance required

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Directs incoming loads of construction material to the correct unloading location.
  • Works with plant leadership and asphalt plant operators to ensure production material needs are being met and in a timely manner.
  • Loads hoppers and feeds belts of proper materials for production.
  • Loads refuse, scrap, rubble and/or rejected material into trucks/roll offs for disposal.
  • Ensures incoming loads of material are accurately recorded for receiving and for payable purposes.
  • Removes accumulated slurry out washout pits as needed.
  • Basic equipment maintenance.
  • Maintains the yard and unpaved areas of the complex by filling potholes and grading.
  • Assures safe operation of equipment.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent; and
  • previous heavy equipment experience with some manual labor on plant equipment; or
  • equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registration:

  • Valid NE driver's license and be insurable under the company insurance program.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work flexible work schedule of 60+ hours per week, including some Saturdays to accommodate the work assignments and weather conditions.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • This position is year-round position; however, there may be times when work is limited. The job is an 8-10 hour shift, and during busy season the position may be required to work 5 to 6 days a week.
  • Must be physically able to aid the maintenance and normal operations of the two batch plants.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
