Plant Operations Supervisor


We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Plant Operations Supervisor to oversee the daily functions of our manufacturing plant. This leadership role is vital in ensuring smooth, efficient, and high-quality plant operations, while providing guidance and oversight to plant personnel in the absence of the Plant Manager. Key Responsibilities:

  • Open the plant each day and manage daily operations to ensure production targets are met efficiently and safely.
  • Supervise and coordinate plant personnel, providing leadership and support in the absence of the Plant Manager.
  • Perform all job duties in strict accordance with company safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to and enforce all company policies and procedures, promoting a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Safely batch concrete and load trucks according to order specifications, maintaining high standards of quality and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct quality checks on sand moisture, slumps, and temperatures as per scheduled procedures.
  • Actively motivate and lead team members to achieve operational goals, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment, ensuring proper operation and scheduling preventative maintenance as needed.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure consistent product quality.
  • Maintain accurate records of production, quality checks, and safety compliance.

  • Proven experience in plant operations, manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of concrete batching processes and quality control procedures.
  • Excellent understanding of safety and environmental regulations.

Requirements


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of related experience in concrete batching, plant operations, or a similar production environment.
  • Possess ACI Level I Certification or can obtain ACI Level I Certification within six months of employment.
  • Possess applicable DOT Batching Certifications or can obtain DOT Batching Certifications within six months of employment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of all aspects of concrete batching technology, equipment, methods, and safety is required.
  • Ability to work early mornings, nights, and weekends as needed.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to include motivating, developing, and inspiring others.ย 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in high pressure situations under tight deadlines.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to safely lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
  • Ability to climb, stoop, bend, squat, lift, stretch, push, pull, twist, kneel, stand, walk, sit, reach occasionally.ย 
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard daily for extended periods.
  • Ability to work outside as needed, with possible exposure to the extremes of hot or cold weather.
