Job Description: Assistant Manager- Greenview

Summary/Objective

The Assistant Manager is mainly responsible for assisting the location manager in daily operations. This position will be heavily involved with custom mixing duties at the facility while also providing sales opportunities. The position will work closely with all employees at the location or assigned to the area including sales and field advisors. The position must maintain accurate application records and communicate with customers. The Assistant Manager will assist the Plant Manager with providing agronomic support, education, and sales management within the designated area.

The Assistant Manager will report to the Greenview Plant Manager. This position will work with the Greenview customer base and is a potential opportunity for growth into other positions.

Essential Functions

  • Operate and maintain all equipment and vehicles
  • Mix and load pesticides and fertilizers
  • Inventory management of seed, chemical and fertilizer
  • Scout fields as directed
  • Custom apply products as needed
  • Provide agronomic support to local customers
  • Provide agronomic advice to customers and staff
  • Knowledge of the retail agronomy industry
  • Answer questions concerning products
  • Builds and develops long-term relationships with customers, peers and suppliers
  • Provide problem solving and understanding of customer needs to reach customersโ€™ goals and expectations
  • Knowledgeable of seed, chemical and fertilizer to make informed decisions
  • Calls on regular or prospective customers to generate new business

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Ag Related preferred
  • 4 years of agronomic experience required.
  • Intermediate computer and software skills required.
  • CDL is required. Hazmat endorsement preferred.
  • Valid Driverโ€™s License is required.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to be on feet 8 hours a day.
