Job description

Overview:

Position Summary

In this role, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of resident units as well as the grounds and common areas of the community.

Essential Functions, Key Duties, & Responsibilities

  • Follow all established safety procedures and precautions when performing maintenance service.
  • Maintain general plant and community to ensure a safe, clean, and orderly environment.
  • Report all incidents/accidents, hazardous conditions, and defective equipment to your supervisor immediately.
  • Assure that work/assignment areas are clean and equipment, tools, supplies, etc., are properly stored before leaving such areas.
  • Keep your work area(s) free of hazardous conditions, to assure that all established safety rules/regulations are followed at all times.
  • Assure that established Infection Control and Universal Precautions practices are maintained when performing maintenance procedures.
  • Coordinate routine/terminal isolation procedures with Nursing Services.
  • Completion of work orders as assigned on a timely basis.
  • Receive and follow maintenance schedule/instructions from your supervisor and as outlined in our established maintenance policies and procedures.
  • Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc., by cutting, trimming, sweeping, etc., as necessary/directed.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment to include plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, etc., as directed in accordance with established procedures.
  • Replace burned out light bulbs, to include, exit lights, overhead lights, fluorescent lights, room call lights.
  • Service heating and cooling units/systems, as specified by the manufacturer, and in compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Perform unscheduled maintenance tasks as directed.
  • Assist with housekeeping coverage
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures and any updates.

Position Requirements

Education: High School Diploma/GED

Licenses/Certifications: N/A

Experience: 1+ years of general maintenance experience

Skills & Abilities: Superb mechanical abilities
