# Outside Plant (OSP) Construction Inspector
  • Location: Front Royal, VA Linden, VA Reliance, VA Shenandoah Valley
  • BPS is seeking an experienced Outside Plant (OSP) Construction Inspector to support fiber optic construction projects throughout Front Royal, Linden, Reliance, and surrounding communities in Northern Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced telecommunications professional who enjoys working in the field, ensuring quality workmanship, and helping expand highspeed fiber infrastructure.

  • ## Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of OSP inspection experience and/or related training preferred.
  • Previous telecommunications and fiber optic construction experience is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a minimum of three (3) years of a good, clean driving record.
  • Experience with both aerial and underground fiber construction preferred.
  • Ability to travel throughout Front Royal, Linden, Reliance, and surrounding Virginia project areas as needed.
  • ## Job Description

    The Outside Plant Inspector is responsible for complete inspection and acceptance of fiber placement and associated construction activities for any assigned OSP project, both aerial and underground. This position is responsible for compliance & adhering to contract requirements and specifications. These responsibilities include maintaining project documentation as required. Candidate will successfully meet or exceed business unit goals while maintaining quality standards, controlling expenses, and following company and business directives and practices.

  • Observe Sub Contractor construction activities and inspect the workmanship of construction as it pertains to compliance of the Plans & Specifications provided by the customer.
  • Familiar with and adhere to quality standards and practices.
  • Coordinate and document with the sub contractor directional drill bore profiles.
  • Create the redline construction drawings where inspection has been observed and record the as built units and routing; keep corrections of these documents current.
  • Maintain required project inspection forms and provide results to the Project Manager weekly.
  • Participate in acceptance testing as directed by the Project Manager.
  • Maintain vendor compliance with current state and federal safety guidelines as it applies.
  • ## Required Skills

  • Ability to effectively operate an iPad and laptop to fulfill the requirements of the position.
  • Ability to access and utilize web based applications as required by BPS for time reporting, expense reimbursement, and management of company benefits (if applicable).
  • Ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • ## Required Experience

  • Previous experience inspecting OSP (Outside Plant Construction) preferred.
  • Three (3) or more years of related OSP inspection experience and/or training preferred; previous telecommunications experience is required.
