Planner/Scheduler
JOB SUMMARY
Colson Group is seeking a detail-oriented Planner/Scheduler with a strong understanding of production planning and scheduling processes. In this role, you will coordinate and expedite the flow of materials and work across departments to meet daily and weekly production targets. Responsibilities include managing and distributing production and shipment schedules, collaborating with department leaders to track progress and timelines, monitoring inventory levels, and proactively resolving production challenges.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Analyze, prepare, and create schedules needed for production.
• Ensure daily production requirements are achieved to meet customer expectations.
• Data analysis and decision making to support raw material supply and finished goods demand.
• Follow-up as required with all teams to expedite flow of materials and work orders to meet production schedule and customer expectations.
• Complete status reports for production progress, work in process and raw material inventory.
• Interact with shop floor management daily to resolve issues or gather additional information as requested from manufacturing, customer service, and other cross functional departments.
• Coordinate with engineering on deviations to maintain the bill of operations and bill of materials.
• Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Understanding of ERP system and Microsoft Office products; strong computer skills.
• Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Able to use logic and reasoning to identify solutions to problems.
• Demonstrates personal time management.
• Works well with Customers/others on the phone.
• Flexibility for handling a wide range of activities.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, planning, time management and general business skills
• Self-driven, motivated, and can operate with minimal direction, take initiative, and be resourceful in problem-solving
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and strong customer service skills with customers as well as the supply chain team
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management preferred or equivalent.
• APICS certification preferred.
• Planning/Scheduling materials and work orders - at least 1-2 years
• Working in a manufacturing environment - at least 1 year
• MRP/ERP system usage - at least 1 year
