The impact you’ll make

The Quality Engineer 5 (QE5) is a senior technical leader responsible for shaping the future of Manufacturing Quality Systems across Lam's global factory network. This role focuses on identifyingemerging manufacturing challenges and developing innovative, scalable quality solutions that enable agility, consistency, and operational excellence in a rapidly evolving environment.

Working across functions, factories, and organizations, the QE5 drives transformation of quality processes, tools, analytics, and governance models to ensure the Quality Management System evolves alongside business growth, technology advancement, and changing manufacturing needs. This role requires a strategic thinker who can translate complex operational challenges into practical, high-impact quality solutions that improve efficiency, effectiveness, and customer outcomes.

We're looking for an innovative Quality Engineer who sees quality systems not as conformance only, but as a strategic enabler of manufacturing excellence. This role will shape how Lam's global factories operate by developing scalable quality solutions, modernizing processes, leveraging data and technology, and driving continuous improvement across an evolving manufacturing landscape.

What you’ll do

Quality System Innovation & Strategy

  • Define and develop next-generation quality programs, processes, and tools that improve manufacturing performance and adaptability.
  • Anticipate future business and manufacturing needs by identifying gaps, risks, and opportunities within existing quality systems.
  • Drive implementation of innovative solutions that simplify processes, increase efficiency, and enhance the user experience across the manufacturing network.
  • Leverage data, analytics, and performance metrics to assess program effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Utilize dashboards, visualizations, and management systems that provide actionable insights and drive informed decision-making.
  • Evaluate organizational performance trends and translate findings into targeted process improvements and capability enhancements.
  • Partner with manufacturing, engineering, operations, and quality organizations to design scalable processes that can be deployed across global sites.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives that harmonize quality practices while maintaining flexibility for evolving business requirements.
  • Develop frameworks, governance models, and best practices that enable consistent execution and sustainable operational excellence.
  • Influence strategic direction for enterprise-wide quality initiatives and support adoption across diverse manufacturing environments.

Operational Excellence & Change Leadership

  • Facilitate the successful adoption of new quality processes, systems, and technologies across multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Lead complex change initiatives requiring alignment across stakeholders, organizations, and geographies.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to stakeholders on best practices, risk-based thinking, and continuous improvement methodologies.

Quality System Governance & Effectiveness

  • Assess the health and effectiveness of quality programs through audits, assessments, process reviews, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ensure quality systems remain robust, scalable, and aligned with organizational objectives and ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Support internal and external assessments as part of maintaining a healthy and effective quality management system.
  • Drive continuous learning by capturing best practices, sharing lessons learned, and developing tools that improve organizational capability.
Who we’re looking for
  • Bachelor's degree Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Engineering equivalent with 12 years of related experience or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years experience
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills and comfortable working in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and work collaboratively with technicians building and testing product in clean room environment.
  • Participate in quality analytics dashboard development and validation. Update and draft manufacturing quality process documentation.
  • Participate in continuous improvement project teams as a representative of the Manufacturing Quality Department. Lean Six Sigma Skills and experience
  • Knowledge on ISO 9K and ISO requirements Experience using PowerBi and QMS
Preferred qualifications
  • Extensive experience leading quality, operational excellence, business process improvement, or quality system initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated success driving large-scale, cross-functional programs from concept through global deployment.
  • Experience leveraging analytics, digital tools, automation, or emerging technologies to improve business processes and working within ISO 9001 QMS.
  • Strong systems-thinking capability with the ability to connect organizational strategy to practical execution.
  • Ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.
