Job description

Responsibilities
  • Primarily involved with assisting staff with field tasks supporting geotechnical projects
  • Responsibilities include clearly documenting site observations for both construction materials testing (CMT) and geotechnical field work performed
  • Other duties may include assisting with or performing the following with limited supervision:
    • Perform boring and test pit layouts
    • Prepare drilling packages and obtain utility clearances
    • Perform research on local geologic history
    • Assist with supervision of field work performed by drilling/test pit crews and assist with rig access issues.
    • Perform in-situ testing
    • Classify soils
    • Keep project staff informed of changing site conditions and/or additional testing requested on project sites

Qualifications
  • Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or similar is required
  • No experience required
  • Professional license is not required in this position but is necessary to progress in career
  • If driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required.
