Job description

JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinate and oversee right of way remediation
  • Supervise pipeline encroachments
  • Complete Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR).
  • Conduct new pipeline commissioning.
  • Be available for call out duty and response to pipeline emergencies
  • Provide support for field technicians as needed (pigging, line maker maintenance etc.)
  • Fill in or assist with field operations and maintenance on purges, drain ups and anomaly digs
  • Service Valves and other pipeline equipment
  • Perform valve inspections, maintenance and other DOT tasks and reports
  • Provide any necessary assistance to construction and inspection personnel
  • Plan and perform all assignments in a safe manner.
  • Attend safety meetings and work safely
  • Other job duties as assigned

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of pipeline related experience
  • Solid verbal and written communication
  • Possess valid driver's license and safe driving record.
  • Solid computer skills to include Microsoft Office Software.
  • Self-motivated, ability to work independently
  • Ability to read and understand technical documents such as Process and Instrument Diagrams, Process Flow Diagrams, and alignment sheets.
  • Familiarity with Process Safety Management Facilities; Management of Change Process; Environmental, Health, and Safety and OSHA Guidelines and Practices
  • Experience with pipeline operations.
  • Regular and reliable attendance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associates degree from an accredited technical school
  • Intermediate computer skills (Proficiency in MS Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, with the ability to respond to call outs as needed to fulfill business objective and the ability to work shifts for plant or field conditions
  • Ability to frequently throughout the work shift, push, pull and lift at least a minimum of 50lbs to a minimum height of 3-4 feet and maneuver equipment or parts as needed
  • Ability to work outdoors in changing climate conditions
  • Able to work in close quarters: i.e., work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing
  • Ability to climb up and down ladders, stairs, and platforms at varying heights
  • Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines (ex: eye protection, footwear, Nomex)
  • We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform pre-employment substance abuse testing
  • This role is subject to drug and alcohol testing, per applicable federal regulations or as required by Targa policy
