Position Summary
Perform trade specific work consistent with production procedures in a shop environment. Work shall meet all efficiency, safety, and quality requirements to ensure finished product meets or exceeds customer expectations.
Role Responsibilities
    • Responsible for compliance with all safety processes and procedures.
    • Must have knowledge of all trade materials and tools.
    • Operate trade specific shop tools and machinery.
    • Ability to read and understand production drawings, labels and measurements.
    • Interpret job orders and drawings as needed for area of assignment.
    • Layout and fabrication of piping spools from production drawings.
    • Inspect and document product compliance.
    • Ability to review produced work for correctness.
    • Perform quality control inspections.
    • Ability to maintain clean and orderly tools/work area.
    • Handle materials.
    • Maintains time records accurately.
    • Work closely with fabrication team members in a collaborative team environment.
    • Help with maintenance of relevant shop production equipment.
    • Assist in the training of new employees.
    • Provide information on daily production to assist with production tracking.
    • Work with shop foreman to ensure production goals are met.
    • Communicate status of orders to the shop leadership.
    • Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately create equipment and products..
    • Identify product defects and effectively communicate defects to project foreman.
    • Working with overheard cranes, jib cranes, and forklifts.
    • Perform prioritized work flow assignments as directed by foreman or shop superintendent.
    • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    • High school degree or GED preferred or equivalent combination of skills and experience.
    • Trade specific training, experience and knowledge.

Minimum Physical Requirements
  • Work outside, inside, and in dusty, noisy and hazardous areas.

  • Must have working knowledge of all trade materials and tools.
  • Ability to lift and carry 51 to 75 lbs. occasionally, and/or 31 to 45 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 16 to 22 pounds of force constantly to move objects
