Job description

Candidate must be able to perform all duties in accordance with company’s quality control, quality assurance, and health and safety policies and procedures, as well as industry standards and project specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Select and safely use appropriate equipment suitable for work being performed.
  • Plan piping layout according to specifications.
  • Measure and mark pipes for cutting and welding.
  • Assemble and secure pipes according to specifications.
  • Identify, recognize, and demonstrate safe usage of power tools appropriate for the job.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in work area.
  • Ensure that equipment is properly maintained and properly stored or kept.
  • Communicate with leadership all aspects and phases (safety, productivity, and quality) of work.
  • Check completed work prior to final welding to ensure conformity to specifications.

Qualifications/Skill Requirements:

  • Blueprint reading
  • Knowledge of tape measure and standard measurements
  • Ability to perform degree finding
  • Ability to divide circumference of welds
  • Knowledge of overhead cranes and hand signals
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills in safe rigging practices
  • Must be able to adhere to standards and perform a quality job in a safe manner within an acceptable time.

Preferred Education/Experience:

  • 2-5 years relevant work experience

Physical requirements: Standard requirements include Bending, squatting, climbing, stooping, twisting, and reaching, standing for long periods of time, lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. May be required to work at heights up to 25 feet.
