CMS Mechanical is offering up to $38.00 per hour for ย Journeymen Pipefitters to start!ย 

CMS Mechanical self-performs work in both the commercial and industrial sectors, including scopes of work related to the provision, installation, and service of heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems, process piping/systems, and energy systems. The latter includes electrical generation and cogeneration systems, as well as all related peripheral elements necessary to deliver fully functional systems to our customers.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and pipe supports used to carry water, steam, air, and other liquids and gases.


Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions):

  • Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair, according to specifications
  • Inspect, examine, or test installed systems or pipelines, using a pressure gauge, hydrostatic testing, observation, or other methods
  • Select pipe sizes, types, or related materials, such as supports, hangers, or hydraulic cylinders, according to the specification
  • Measure and mark pipes for cutting or threading
  • Attach pipes to walls, structures, or fixtures such as radiators or tanks, using brackets, clamps, tools, or welding equipment
  • Assemble or secure pipes, tubes, fittings, or related equipment according to specifications by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering or threading joints
  • Lay out full-scale drawings of pipe systems, supports, and related equipment following blueprints
  • Turn valves to shut off steam, water, or other gas or liquids from pipe sections, using valve keys or wrenches
  • Cut, thread, or hammer pipes to specifications using tools such as saws, cutting torches, pipe threaders or pipe benders
  • Remove and replace worn components
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma and 8 or more years of previous pipefitter experience
  • Strong experience in mechanical construction
  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings

  • Strong communication skills with ability to coordinate work with other team members
  • Strong organizational skills to effectively manage time and resources
  • Ability to work independentlyย 

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Works under the direction of a Superintendentย 

Working Conditions

  • Physical effort required for frequent lifting or moving of heavy materials
  • Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds and walk a project site
  • Regularly required to sit or stand, bend, and reach
  • Work is performed in outside weather conditions on jobsites
