Job description

Summary

Seeking an experienced Pipe Welder with 5+ years of experience welding carbon steel pipe using MIG, Sub-Arc, and Flux Core. Must be able to produce pressure-containing welds that meet 100% X-ray standards. A weld test is required.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret work orders, modification procedures, and weld procedures.
  • Perform fit-ups, structural welds and pressure containing welds on carbon steel pipe and fittings
  • Weld procedures including GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SAW
  • Overtime and weekend work required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Welder qualification required as part of application process.
  • Familiar with ASME code requirements a plus.
  • Able to produce “x-ray quality” welds.
  • Able to read and interpret Prints, WPS, Specifications, Work Instructions.
  • Fabrication & Mechanical skills a plus.
  • Ability to stand, crouch, bend for 8-10 hour shifts.
  • Must be able lift up to 40 Lbs. on occasion.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Experience operating a forklift.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work as a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

 

Education and Qualifications

  • High School or GED required.
  • Minimum 5+ years of welding/fabrication experience.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
