Rogers Group is currently seeking Utilities & Pipe Crew Laborers in the Huntsville AL / North Alabama operations area, Alabama SMA reporting to the General Manager of Construction & Superintendent. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead safety, quality, and revenue generation throughout our existing operations and additional operations through growth.

Job Details:

  • Wages are dependent on experience

Job Responsibilities:ย 

  • Lay storm drainage, sanitary sewer mains and water mains
  • Use hand tools as needed
  • Assist with setting grade and driving grade stakes
  • Use pipe laser/level

Qualifications:ย 

  • Minimum of 1ย year of experience in grading operations/utilities & pipe preferred
  • Individual must be dedicated to working safely at all times
  • Experienced working with GPS control preferred
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and nights when necessary
  • Team player
  • Valid driver's license
  • Read and understand grade stakes.
  • Use both hands and feet at the same time.
  • Work in an environment with noise levels that may require hearing protection.
  • Must be able to hear and understand commands from supervisors, warnings from fellow workers, and alarms on equipment.
  • Able to use mechanic's hand tools and tape measure.
  • Able to crawl and climb on, over, under and inside construction equipment.
  • Lift and carry objects and materials of various weights up to 100 pounds.
  • Must have good reliable transportation to make it to and from work.
  • Self-motivated individual - must be able to perform required duties independently, without constant supervision.
  • Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed.
  • Must be able to work outside in all types of weather and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
