Maintenance Technician – Mechanic Needed ASAP

Location: Bessemer, AL

Starting Pay: $20.00-$40.00 per hour depending on experience

Shift Schedule: Starts at 5:30 AM, Monday-Friday

Sign-On Bonus Opportunity: We are currently offering a limited-time sign-on bonus of $4,000 for new hires with a valid CDL license, and sign-on bonuses for new hires without a current CDL license are also available at a reduced amount. New employees who meet the criteria outlined in our sign-on bonus program will be eligible for the full payout.

We're looking for a Maintenance Technician / Mechanic to join our team in Bessemer, AL. In this role, you'll help maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve the equipment that supports our manufacturing operations.

What You'll Do

  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on plant equipment, machinery, and related systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical equipment
  • Maintain pumps, motors, compressors, valves, static mixers, and other manufacturing equipment
  • Conduct equipment testing and diagnostics using gauges, flow meters, amp meters, volt meters, and other measuring devices
  • Install and repair air piping systems and simple hydraulic systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and engineering drawings
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment histories, and preventive maintenance schedules
  • Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment
  • Work with vendors and internal teams to support plant operations and equipment reliability
  • Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout requirements and confined space regulations

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record required; Valid CDL license is a plus
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with welding, fabrication, pipefitting, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, forklift operation, or industrial maintenance equipment is preferred.
  • Occasional travel as required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50-75 pounds occasionally and work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, moderate noise, varying weather conditions, and occasional heights, dust, fumes, and airborne particles.
