A Ping Implementation Engineer is a technical professional who specializes in deploying, configuring, and integrating Ping Identity solutions, such as PingFederate, PingAccess, and PingOne. They work with organizations to implement secure identity and access management (IAM) systems, ensuring seamless authentication, single sign-on (SSO), and user provisioning. Their responsibilities often include analyzing client requirements, setting up the Ping Identity platform, troubleshooting integration issues, and providing ongoing support. This role requires a strong understanding of identity protocols like SAML, OAuth, and OpenID Connect, as well as experience with cloud and on-premises environments.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Ping Implementation Engineer?

To thrive as a Ping Implementation Engineer, you need a strong background in identity and access management (IAM), knowledge of authentication protocols (such as SAML, OAuth, and OpenID Connect), and experience with Ping Identity solutions. Familiarity with tools like PingFederate, PingAccess, PingID, and relevant certifications such as Ping Identity Certified Professional are often required. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills help in working with clients and teams to deliver secure and efficient implementations. These skills ensure robust IAM solutions that protect organizational resources and support seamless user experiences.

We are seeking a Senior IAM / CIAM Developer with deep expertise in Ping Identity, React.js, and Java to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting secure customer authentication and identity management solutions that enable seamless digital experiences. You will work closely with architects, security teams, product owners, and developers to deliver scalable Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) solutions that support Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), federation, and customer identity lifecycle management.

Responsibilities
  • Design, configure, customize, and integrate Ping Identity solutions to support customer authentication, authorization, SSO, MFA, federation, and session management.
  • Develop and enhance secure, scalable, and responsive customer sign‑on experiences using React.js.
  • Build and maintain Java‑based backend services, APIs, and microservices supporting authentication, authorization, token validation, and identity workflows.
  • Integrate IAM and CIAM solutions with enterprise applications, APIs, directories, customer identity repositories, and third‑party systems.
  • Support migration initiatives from legacy authentication platforms to modern Ping Identity solutions, including testing, validation, and deployment activities.
  • Implement security protocols and standards such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML 2.0, and JWT across enterprise applications.

  • Design and document API contracts, integration workflows, process flows, data mappings, and technical requirements.
  • Conduct code reviews, optimize application performance, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and execute unit and integration tests, troubleshoot issues, and participate in defect resolution activities.
  • Support production deployments, production readiness reviews, go‑live activities, and post‑production stabilization.
  • Lead or participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), validation activities, and stakeholder reviews.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture artifacts, standards, operational runbooks, and knowledge transfer materials.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Security teams, QA teams, and other stakeholders in an Agile delivery environment.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand‑ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
