THE ROLE

The Maintenance Mechanic at Grandstand is responsible for conducting general maintenance and repair on the facility; and on all production machinery and equipment ensuring it is safe, functional, and well-maintained. This position will also provide assistance with building and grounds maintenance.


  • Execute the activities of machinery and equipment preventative maintenance and repair in production facility.
  • Provide quick response to downtime situations affecting production.
  • Collaborate with Production staff to trouble-shoot and find solutions for decoration challenges.
  • Minimize downtime by following the prioritization and scheduling of repair orders as instructed.
  • Ensure that unsafe equipment is taken out of service until repairs are made.
  • Assist Facility Maintenance Tech with: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, dock doors, dock plates, trailer restraints and switch lights, pest control, and elevator.
  • Collaborate with Production Manager regarding expenditures to ensure maximum value is obtained when purchasing supplies and repair parts.
  • Conduct parts inventory audits as required to ensure parts are readily available to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with material handling equipment vendor regarding maintenance and repair of forklifts.
  • Flexibility to work variable shifts.
  • Additional duties as assigned by management.

THE ESSENTIALS

  • Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of advanced mathematics required.
  • An aptitude for general maintenance processes and methods.
  • Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and other mechanical systems.
  • Ability to understand and follow advanced written and oral instructions.
  • Must be a team player capable of working with cross functional teams.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, present information, and respond to questions in verbal and written format, both internally and externally.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with ability to multi-task, plan and set priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment, work independently and be highly motivated.
  • Ability to exhibit strong interpersonal communication skills and establish and maintain effective working relationship across all levels of Grandstand.
  • Valid drivers license and proof of automobile insurance.
  • Regular and reliable attendance combined with being dependable and prompt.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Level 4: Heavy Work
  • Occasionally exerts 50-100 pounds of force; frequently exerts 25-50 pounds of force; constantly exerts 10-20 pounds of force.
  • Must be able to safely complete 50-pound PILE test or greater.
  • Ability to occasionally lift/lower 15-48 pounds, carry 20-48 pounds, push/pull (force exerted) 48-68 pounds.
  • Ability to perform physical activities that require occasional walking, sitting, change of position, reaching (extended hands/arms), reach across mid-line, fingering (pinch/pick), feeling (perceive attributes of objects), crouching/squatting (bend legs/spine), crawling, balancing, stooping (bend at waist), kneeling, stairs, ramp, ladder, arm/hand, simple grasp (grasp lightly).
  • Ability to lift/lower/carry tools and equipment, pallets, lifting above shoulder height.
  • Ability to perform physical activities that require frequent standing and handling (hold, grasp, seize, turn).
  • Ability to perceive small details at arms length distance.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The Maintenance Mechanic may work in uncomfortably hot or cold environments, in uncomfortable and cramped positions, or on ladders.
  • Interaction with staff and customers.
