Summary of Position Functions
The Solar Racking Foreman is responsible for leading the proper layout, assembly, installation, and securing of photovoltaic mechanical racking systems in utility-scale solar projects. This position oversees crew activities, ensures safety compliance, and maintains quality control throughout the racking installation process.

Essential Position Functions

  • Reads and interprets contract documents, submittals, shop drawings, architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings.
  • Interprets project plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate racking installation.
  • Establishes and maintains a 3-week lookahead schedule on a weekly basis.
  • Conducts daily safety meetings and ensures all crew members follow safe work practices.
  • Completes daily foreman reports, tracks production, and submits accurate crew timesheets.
  • Trains employees on proper equipment use, improving job performance and productivity.
  • Manages quality control to ensure processes are implemented according to project design.
  • Coordinates with other teams and project managers to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues that arise during the installation process.
  • Performs site surveys and adapts system design as needed.
  • Follows company safety policies.
