Job description

Overview
Under minimal direction, rotates duties between clearing baggage jams, monitoring system graphical displays, moving baggage from pier to pier, and assists Technicians.
Responsibilities
  • Moves baggage from default pier and delivers to appropriate airline pier or make-up unit.
  • Completes computer entries and paperwork appropriate for tasks performed.
  • Assists Technicians with preventative maintenance which includes cleaning and applying lubrication to system components, and general housekeeping in the work area.
  • Performs system walkthroughs and alerts Technicians of any issues.
  • Monitors system displays for active alarms/faults and dispatches technicians to faulted area.
  • Responsible for clearing baggage jams on the system.
  • May be responsible for moving baggage tubs to and from the bag room to various locations within the assigned work area.
  • Completes all training as assigned by the Company.
  • Compliance with all ELS safety programs, policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties/assignments that may be required by management from time to time.

Qualifications
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Ability to pass a basic aptitude test.

  • Ability to work a non-traditional schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be dependable and maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Previous work experience in an Airport environment.
  • Good knowledge of industrial safety.
  • Ability to work in tight and high spaces with proper PPE.
  • Good written and verbal communication.
  • Previous mechanical experience.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Word, Outlook)

  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable under the Company's insurance policy
