The job of PICC RN/ Vascular Access Specialist was established for the purpose/s of providing expert

vascular access services to the patients of our clients. Working within the guidelines set forth by the state

in which these employees are licensed and also working within the guidelines set forth by the Company,

the PICC RN/ Vascular Access Specialist will maintain a high level of professionalism and skill.

Responsibilities

Vascular Access

โ€ข Bedside insertion of peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs).

โ€ข Bedside insertion of midlines and extended dwell catheters.

โ€ข Bedside insertion of peripheral IV catheters.

โ€ข Establishing access via intravascular ports.

โ€ข Examination, assessment and evaluation of patients with vascular access devices.

Education

โ€ข Educates all patients and family members on the procedures to be completed.

โ€ข Answers any questions regarding procedures to be done.

โ€ข Educates staff when necessary.

Documentation

โ€ข Clearly documents procedures completed as per client policy and per the policy of the

Company.

Competencies

โ€ข Current RN license in the state in which the employee is working.

โ€ข Current ACLS and BCLS certifications.

โ€ข Completed vascular access competency skills checklist.

โ€ข Communication Proficiency.

โ€ข Personal Effectiveness/Credibility.
