Job description

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A RESPIRATORY THERAPIST* TO WORK AS AN INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR IN THE HOME HEALTH SETTING*

Pediatric Respiratory Care of South Florida, Inc. DBA. JKARE provides respiratory care to neonates, children, and adults by treating conditions such as Cystic Fibrosis, Asthma, Emphysema, Pneumonia, Pulmonary Fibrosis, Muscular Dystrophy, Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD), and Bronchiectasis.

Our services include chest physiotherapy/postural drainage (CPT/PD), mechanical ventilation monitoring, SpO2 monitoring, tracheostomy change and care, Spirometry/pulmonary function test, and inhalation therapy. We also specialize in sales, rental, and set-up of durable medical equipment and supplies.

Respiratory Therapist duties and responsibilities

  • Perform all respiratory care-related duties as prescribed by a physician in the home setting to patients of all ages with critical and complex medical conditions
  • Deliver and set up respiratory therapy (RT) equipment, including (but not limited to) oxygen therapy, CPAP/BIPAP, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, and ventilation.
  • Demonstrate the use of RT equipment in the client/patient's home, and ensure that the client/patient and caregiver demonstrate knowledge of the proper operation of the equipment.
  • Complete appropriate documentation of client visits, including reports as needed to physicians about client/patient clinical progress
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans and equipment. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A valid respiratory therapist license (CRT OR RRT)
  • ACHA Level II background check
  • CPR CARD
  • Must obtain liability insurance
  • CEU'S up to date.
