Physician Assistant ORs work under the supervision of surgeons and collaborate with the surgical team to deliver high-quality patient care throughout the surgical process.

What are some common challenges physician assistants face in a surgical or operating room setting?

Physician Assistants working in the operating room often encounter fast-paced environments where adaptability and clear communication are vital. They may face challenges such as managing multiple cases simultaneously, quickly responding to changes during surgical procedures, and collaborating closely with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists. Staying updated on surgical techniques and protocols is essential, as is maintaining composure under pressure. These experiences, while demanding, can also provide significant opportunities for skill development and professional growth.
