Job description

The Physical Therapy Tech assist therapists in providing professional orthopedic therapy care for clinic patients andย performing clinical tasks and patient care including modalities and following exercise programs with patients. The Physical Therapy Tech willย contribute to maintenance of a neat and orderly clinic. Apply below!ย This is a full-time position for our Midtown location.ย

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Administer appropriate modalities under the direction of a therapist
  • Assist patients in performing their exercise programs
  • Clean and organize as needed to help maintain a neat and orderly clinic
  • Assist in directing/transferring/transporting patients to the appropriate care area to help maintain an orderly clinic flow
  • Assist supervisor in daily operational duties as needed
  • Help keep clinic supplies ordered and stockedย 
  • Help maintain all equipment in proper working condition
  • Assist supervising therapist with management of daily schedule
  • Assist with patient scheduling by confirming that patients have scheduled future appointments before departure from PT clinic
  • Assist front desk staff with administrative duties, including answering phone calls, scheduling patients, filing charts and paperwork and various data entry tasks
  • Maintain patient confidentiality; comply with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice
  • Maintain knowledge of computer software related to job functions
  • Perform other tasks and projects assigned by Therapy Administrators

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

  • A bachelorโ€™s degreeย is preferred
  • Training or experience in orthopedic care is preferredย 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasksย 
  • Basic knowledge in exercise physiology, bio mechanics and exercise techniquesย 
  • Working knowledge of basic anatomy
  • Successful completion of the MPOWERย Tech Training manual and exam after training
  • Comfortable effectively using MS Office programs including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook
  • Ability to work with Practice Management software as required after trainingย 
  • Good communication skills and the ability to perform patient education duties
