Job description

We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Department Manager to lead maintenance operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for driving equipment reliability, optimizing maintenance programs, and leading a high-performing team focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily maintenance operations, prioritizing work and ensuring timely response to production needs while maintaining a strong safety culture
  • Oversee and continuously improve preventative and predictive maintenance programs to maximize uptime and equipment reliability
  • Plan, budget, and execute capital improvement projects involving facilities, equipment, and technology upgrades
  • Develop, coach, and mentor maintenance technicians; build a cross-functional, highly skilled team through training and onboarding
  • Manage parts inventory and service strategies to balance cost, availability, and operational efficiency
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to troubleshoot issues, resolve root causes, and support continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • Strong background in industrial maintenance within a manufacturing environment; engineering or related degree preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics, with the ability to interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and maintenance program development
  • Experience leading teams, developing talent, and fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture
  • Working knowledge of industrial safety practices and standards related to maintenance and repair
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment

Work Environment
  • Combination of office and manufacturing floor presence
  • Exposure to industrial conditions including fabrication, extrusion, and finishing processes
  • Flexibility to support off-hours needs or travel between facilities as required
