Major Responsibilities:
  • Deliver Preventive Health Screenings:
    Perform on-site biometric screenings, including blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, BMI, and waist circumference measurements, with precision and professionalism. Conduct venipuncture when applicable while maintaining the highest standards of clinical safety and infection control.
  • Flu Clinic Administration (Applies to Health Promotion Specialists who are Registered Nurses): The Onsite Flu Nurse independently manages influenza vaccination clinics at the employer's location, ensuring seamless coordination and delivery of services. The nurse will administer flu vaccinations, monitor employees for immediate post-vaccination reactions, provide education on flu prevention and vaccine safety, maintain accurate vaccination records, and manage vaccine inventory. The nurse is responsible for the safe transport and refrigeration of vaccines, adhering to medical group guidelines to maintain the cold chain and ensure vaccine efficacy. The nurse will communicate with the onsite liaison to coordinate logistics and address any issues and ensure operational continuity.
  • Provide Individualized Wellness Coaching and Education:
    Interpret screening results and engage participants in meaningful, evidence-based health counseling. Translate complex medical data into actionable lifestyle guidance tailored to each individual's health risks, goals, and readiness for change. Empower participants to make sustainable improvements in areas such as nutrition, physical activity, tobacco cessation, and stress management.
  • Ensure Accurate Documentation and Compliance:
    Complete and review all required forms and electronic health records promptly and accurately. Ensure proper routing of screening and vaccination data and maintain strict adherence to privacy, confidentiality, and HIPAA regulations. Other administrative duties as assigned.
  • Support Preventive Care and Clinical Follow-Up:
    Identify risk factors that warrant further evaluation and recommend follow-up care with primary care physicians or specialists. Provide referrals and educational resources aligned with organizational protocols and clinical guidelines. Identify participants without Primary Care Physicians to assist them in connecting to appropriate resources.
  • Facilitate Workplace Wellness Programs:
    Design and lead on-site or virtual wellness workshops, lunch-and-learns, and group education sessions and challenges covering topics such as chronic disease prevention, stress management, healthy eating, and physical fitness when applicable. Adapt content to audience demographics and organizational goals.
  • Maintain Clinical Standards, Safety and Preparedness:
    Prepare, organize, and restock screening and or vaccination supplies and materials. Ensure all clinical equipment is clean, calibrated, and in proper working condition. Follow all safety and biohazard protocols to maintain a secure working environment. Stay current with advancements in workplace wellness, participate in huddles, staff meetings, and training programs to uphold participant safety, quality, and clinical excellence goals. Resolve participant or site contact concerns and complaints promptly, adhering to quality standards and safety protocols. Report any issues to Supervisor. Complete annual skills competency training, pass assessments, and submit required Origami reporting per departmental guidelines
  • Team Leadership and Support:
    May supervise and provide oversight to health promotion technicians during large-scale screening events or at client sites. Offer ongoing coaching, training, and support to ensure consistent service delivery and adherence to clinical best practices. May mentor new hire teammates to ensure quality and competencies.
  • Promote Age-Appropriate, Inclusive Care:
    Demonstrate knowledge of health needs across the lifespan and tailor wellness coaching and education to the developmental stage and cultural background of each participant. Maintain a welcoming, inclusive, and non-judgmental approach in all interactions.
  • Program Promotion and Resource Support: Enhance wellness initiatives by sharing educational materials, promoting online resources, and encouraging the use of the LiveWell App. Cross promotes other company wellness programs and services to engage employees and foster a culture of health and well-being within the organization.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices, or
  • Exercise Physiologist (RCEP) registration issued by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), or
  • Dietitian (RD) registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and
  • Dietitian certification issued by the state in which the team member practices.

Education Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics, Exercise Physiology, Nursing, or a related field

Experience Required:
  • Typically requires 3 years of experience in nursing, dietetics, nutrition or exercise physiology.
  • Background in health promotion, wellness coaching, and adult education.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
  • Knowledge of preventive health strategies, including nutrition, fitness, and behavior change techniques
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse populations
  • Ability to present health education content confidently to both small and large audiences
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities across various work settings
  • Capable of working independently in fast-paced environment and/or group settings

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift, bend, and twist regularly throughout the workday
  • Frequently handles and transports educational materials and screening supplies (up to 35 lbs)
  • May be exposed to bodily fluids; adherence to safety and PPE protocols is required
  • Frequent travel to client sites, with potential exposure to varied weather and road conditions
  • Comfortable working in a range of environments, including office settings, client workplaces, and community venues
  • Must be flexible with work hours and able to adapt to changing schedules as needed

Preferred Experience:
  • 5 years of experience in nursing, dietetics, nutrition, or exercise physiology
  • Strong background in health promotion, wellness coaching, and adult education preferred

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Deep knowledge of preventive health strategies, including nutrition, fitness, and behavior change techniques
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse populations
