Davies is seeking a P&C Liability Bodily Injury Adjuster Trainee to join our growing Claims team. This fully remote position is ideal for individuals looking to build a long-term career in claims and liability adjusting. Working alongside experienced claim professionals, the Trainee will learn how to investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve bodily injury and liability claims while developing technical expertise in coverage analysis, liability determination, medical record review, and claim resolution.
This role offers hands-on training and mentorship while providing exposure to automobile liability, general liability, and bodily injury claims.
The role is onsite at our client's location in Sarasota, FL.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the investigation of bodily injury and liability claims to determine coverage, liability, and damages.
  • Conduct initial contact with claimants, insureds, witnesses, attorneys, medical providers, and other involved parties.
  • Review police reports, accident reports, witness statements, photographs, and other claim-related documentation.
  • Learn to analyze policy language and coverage provisions to determine claim applicability.
  • Review medical records, medical bills, treatment plans, and related documentation to evaluate injuries and damages.
  • Maintain accurate claim documentation and diary management within the claims management system.
  • Establish and update action plans to ensure timely claim handling.
  • Assist with reserve recommendations under management guidance.
  • Prepare written correspondence and claim summaries.
  • Participate in settlement negotiations under supervision and within designated authority levels.
  • Identify potential subrogation opportunities and escalate as appropriate.
  • Maintain communication with clients, insureds, claimants, attorneys, and internal stakeholders regarding claim status and next steps.
  • Ensure all claims activities comply with company policies, client service standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in training programs, continuing education activities, and professional development opportunities.
  • Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Skills, knowledge & expertise
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Previous insurance, claims, customer service, legal, healthcare, or related experience preferred.
  • Interest in developing a career in property and casualty claims adjusting.
  • Strong analytical and investigative thinking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote team.
  • Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain required adjuster licensing and continuing education requirements.
  • Knowledge of liability concepts, medical terminology, or insurance principles is a plus.
