How much do photogrammetry lidar jobs pay per year?

As of Jun 6, 2026, the average yearly pay for photogrammetry lidar in the United States is $92,656.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $50,000.00 and $134,000.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Photogrammetry Lidar position, and why are they important?

To thrive in a Photogrammetry LiDAR role, you need a strong background in geospatial sciences, data analysis, and remote sensing, often supported by a relevant degree such as geography, geomatics, or civil engineering. Experience with specialized software such as GIS (ArcGIS, QGIS), photogrammetry tools, and LiDAR processing platforms (e.g., LAStools, TerraScan), as well as certifications like ASPRS, are highly valued. Attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and effective communication are important soft skills for working with technical teams and stakeholders. Mastering these skills ensures accurate data collection and processing for mapping, surveying, and infrastructure projects.

What is a Photogrammetry Lidar job?

A Photogrammetry Lidar job involves using photogrammetry and LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) technology to create detailed 3D models and maps of terrain, structures, or objects. Professionals in this field process aerial or terrestrial data collected from drones, satellites, or ground-based sensors. They work in industries like surveying, construction, forestry, and urban planning to analyze spatial data and generate accurate geospatial representations. The role requires expertise in GIS software, data processing tools, and point cloud analysis.

What are the typical daily responsibilities for someone working in a Photogrammetry LiDAR position?

Professionals in Photogrammetry LiDAR roles typically spend their days processing and analyzing geospatial and LiDAR data to create precise maps, 3D models, or topographic surveys. This often involves working with raw aerial imagery or scanner outputs, cleaning and classifying data, and using specialized software to extract meaningful information for projects. Collaboration with surveyors, engineers, or GIS specialists is common, as is fieldwork for data collection or quality assurance. These roles can be office-based, but may also require occasional travel to project sites, depending on the employer and project needs.
