The Digital Content Specialist leads the strategy, acquisition, and usage of digital content at Meijer. In this role, the Digital Content Specialist creates and enforces standards, maintains digital eligibility with internal and external stakeholders, and analyzes backend ecommerce data. This role works directly with buyers, merchandising ITS, digital ITS, marketing, ecommerce, photo agencies, paid media, and external vendor partners.


What You'll Be Doing

Systems Used

  • Microsoft 365 (advanced Excel skills), Stibo PIM (Product Information Manager), Power BI, Nielsen IQ Label Insights, 1WorldSync, Salsify, Syndigo

Standards and Attribute Strategy

  • Own and develop the overall content strategy to maintain Meijer's online brand equity and translate the in-store customer experience to an online platform
  • Implement Artificial Intelligence for digital content scorecarding (using Power BI)

Digital Eligibility Campaigns and Reports

Vendor Relations

  • Direct collaboration with vendors ranging from local businesses to Fortune 500 companies
  • Troubleshoot vendor PIM issues and facilitate system training

IT Relations

  • Develop features and bugs within the Agile Program Increment (PI) structure
  • Digital Content Specialist is the bridge from vendor to Meijer IT

Imagery Standards and Operations

  • Troubleshoot imagery metadata issues in PIM (e.g. pixels, DPI/PPI, image file format, aspect ratio, file size)
  • Partner with the Meijer photo studio to track and upload imagery
  • Understand industry-wide GS1 regulations

What You'll Bring With You:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field (digital marketing, merchandising, ecommerce, information systems, digital content creation, etc.)
  • 2-5 years of experience in the above fields
  • Knowledge of the retail industry and eCommerce
  • Basic understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
  • Ability to analyze reporting and provide insights
  • Ability to collaborate with, and present to internal and external stakeholders (e.g. Meijer buying directors, influential vendor account managers and leadership)
  • Passion to learn company systems, processes and tools, and identify opportunities of improvement
  • Proactive and action-oriented
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Ability to meet production deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Basic understanding of intellectual property rights, compliance and enforcement
