Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary
Hours for this position are variable and can occur in the evenings and/or on weekends. With guidance & direction from the Photography Program Lead, you will assist with the support & management of the Photo Studio, students in the classes & faculty. You will be assigned to assist with chemical mixing and disposal; and assisting students working in the lab. The successful candidate will work closely with the Dept Manager and bring attention to any facility issues or concerns. Perform any other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
  • The Photography Studio Assistant will help supervise students in the Photography studio & oversee compliance of studio policies, maintaining a clean, functional and productive environment.
  • Assist students with photographic needs, clean & organize work spaces, prepare, monitor and replenish all photo chemistry .
  • Follow instructions and duties as given by Lab Lead & or, Art Manager.
  • Applicant will sometimes work without supervision and have basic knowledge of Black & White darkroom production, including film development and enlargement printing.
Required Qualifications
  • Professional, dependable, organized & be able to multi-task.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, both individually and as a part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills to share information with Faculty & department.

Desired Qualifications
  • Previously taken a Photo class
  • Previous experience in photography studio spaces.
