Job Summary:
The Conveyor Mechanic supports the operation of a fast-paced fulfillment center by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing conveyor systems and automated material handling equipment. This role is critical to minimizing downtime and ensuring packages move efficiently through sorting, scanning, and shipping processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on conveyor systems, including belts, rollers, bearings, pulleys, sorters, and motors
  • Diagnose mechanical and basic electrical issues in high-speed automated systems
  • Respond quickly to conveyor jams, breakdowns, and system alerts to reduce operational downtime
  • Inspect and maintain components such as photo eyes, sensors, and scanners used in automated sorting
  • Replace worn or defective parts and ensure proper system alignment and calibration
  • Work closely with operations teams to prioritize repairs during peak volume periods
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Follow strict safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to increase system reliability and throughput

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training preferred
  • 2+ years of experience with conveyor systems, material handling equipment, or industrial maintenance
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills; basic electrical knowledge preferred
  • Familiarity with automated systems, PLCs, and sensors is a plus
