Description
This is an opportunity to work with the Audio/Visual (A/V) Department for the PETA Foundation and its international entities, editing some of PETA's most riveting and popular content in order to promote animal rights. The A/V Editor-Videographer will shoot and edit assigned projects from start to finish, from celebrity PSAs for worldwide distribution to scroll-stopping content for social media. This position is ideal for experienced audio-visual editor-videographers who enjoy working on a team to create the strongest content possible while having a positive impact on our world.
Position Objective:
To create exciting, cutting-edge audio-visual productions aimed at promoting animal rights for the PETA Foundation and its supported organizations
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
• In consultation with the PETA Foundation and its supported organizations and in verified compliance with the objectives, standards, and requirements communicated by them:
o Create exciting, cutting-edge videos based on requests from the PETA Foundation and its supported organizations
o Work closely with the director, manager, and any other staff at the PETA Foundation and its supported organizations on creative aspects throughout production of audio-visual projects
o Design, direct, and conduct video, audio, and photo shoots
o Create effects, titles, and other motion graphics
o Take responsibility for the quality control of videos
o Uphold formatting guidelines for various online platforms and other publication outlets
o Archive and upload raw and master files within the A/V database and server, and assemble legal breakdowns for edits
• Perform light maintenance on audio-visual equipment and supplies to ensure department equipment is up to performance standards, and communicate issues and/or purchase needs in a timely manner
• Abide by any legal guidelines regarding video production from start to completion
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
• Degree in a related field and three years of relevant experience, or five years of related experience
• Extensive editing experience, including but not limited to experience with Adobe Creative Cloud
• Experience with industrial-grade audio-visual equipment
• Sophisticated understanding of and appreciation for the creative process
• Proven effective leadership skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proven ability to deal professionally with staff members and the public
• Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Proven ability to work under tight deadlines in a professional manner
• Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
• Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid U.S. driver's license, a minimum of three years of driving experience, and a satisfactory driving record
• Willingness and ability to travel
• Commitment to the objectives of the organization
The hourly pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.13. The ultimate hourly pay within this range that will be offered to a qualified candidate will be determined based on the candidate's experience.
