Job Summary
Under general direction and within the scope of the Tulsa County Juvenile Bureau policies and guidelines, aides juveniles that are enrolled in the Phoenix Rising program who have complex personal and environmental challenges by performing the follow duties.
Job Description
All candidates conditionally offered transfer, promotion or initial hiring into a DOT/safety-sensitive position shall submit to testing for drugs and alcohol and test negative before performing any job functions that are safety-sensitive or require a CDL. External job applicants with a confirmed positive drug or alcohol test result shall be denied employment and shall be required to wait one year before applying for another position within Tulsa County.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
โ€ข Oversee the administrative duties to ensure successful day-to-day operation of the Phoenix Rising program.
โ€ข Address complex educational and behavioral needs of the youth attending the program.
โ€ข Collaborate consistently and with a solution-focused approach with Phoenix Rising staff, teachers, all Juvenile Bureau departments, Department of Human Services employees, therapists, physicians, and other youth-serving professionals to create treatment plans, documenting progress, and making recommendations for treatment as needed for Phoenix Rising students.
โ€ข Seek out appropriate services, referrals, and resources for Phoenix Rising students and families as needed based on needs assessments and individualized treatment plans created working alongside the student, their family and their identified support team.
โ€ข Complete various behavioral, substance-abuse, and other assessments along with the Phoenix Rising wellness plan with students and families. Engage identified student(s) in a one-on-one or group therapeutic setting utilizing various social work theories and therapeutic techniques, based on assessment results.
โ€ข Update case notes, records, and other documentation pertaining to student's progress, adhering to the highest standard of confidentiality and record keeping protocol.
โ€ข Provide transportation for students' and/or student family members to school, school related events, or pertinent appointments in county or personal vehicle.
โ€ข Provide support to students and faculty in classrooms to maintain a therapeutic and trauma-informed foundation throughout the program's varying arenas.
โ€ข Ensure the supervision of students is consistently established and communicated throughout the entirety of the school day, on field trips, and during other community based activities.
โ€ข Provide support and supervision to individual students as needed in a classroom setting or elsewhere.
โ€ข Communicate consistently and in a solution-focused manner with the Administrator with regards to daily operational successes and concerns, employee morale and dependability, programmatic opportunities to establish partnerships throughout the community that will enrich the program and the lives of the families we work alongside.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES
Skill in recognizing underlying causes of complex social problems; in counseling individuals concerning personal problems; and in eliciting pertinent personal information.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of social work applicable to juvenile casework; and of county and state regulations pertaining to juvenile care, and divisional policies and procedures.
Ability to deal tactfully with others; to express facts and opinions clearly and concisely both orally and in writing; to establish effective interpersonal relationships; and to create a constructive atmosphere for crisis problem solving.
SUPERVISORY SKILLS
Directly supervises four (4) employees in the Phoenix Rising Alternative Educational Program. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in Social Work (as governed by the CSWE), Sociology, Psychology, or a closely related field; and over 2 years full-time paid management level employment in social work, or juvenile work or a related position.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Contact Management systems; Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid OK Driver's License possessed for least 6 months
Defensive Driving through Tulsa County within 6 months of hired
Certification in First Aid/CPR
Certification in Crisis Management
