same pride in our grounds that our members take in calling Sunrise home.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for all phases of golf maintenance and agronomic operations, cost control, and personnel on our 18-hole executive-plus course. This role works closely with the Head Golf Professional on all matters related to course maintenance and directs and participates in the construction and upkeep of the grounds.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Portray a positive club image through professional, friendly communication with members and guests.
  • Manage maintenance of the golf course, clubhouse grounds, equipment, landscaping, and common-use facilities (tennis courts, pools, spas).
  • Maintain compliance with all OSHA regulations and hold all state-required herbicide and pesticide licenses.
  • Source and coordinate outside vendors and contractors.
  • Interview, hire, train, and supervise all Golf Course Maintenance staff.
  • Apply agronomic and supervisory expertise to achieve maintenance standards and long-range course goals.
  • Participate in Golf Committee meetings and other meetings as assigned by the General Manager.
  • Acquire equipment and purchase supplies necessary to maintain the club and golf course areas.
  • Maintain accurate records on inventory, maintenance procedures, pesticide applications, fuel logs, and other regulatory records.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate’s degree with technical training in plant engineering, turf management, or facility maintenance; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3–5 years of progressive maintenance experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role directing a multi-functional maintenance staff.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, with the ability to define and resolve problems quickly.
  • Familiarity with local building codes, OSHA regulations, and current health and safety standards.
  • Strong supervisory, oral, and written communication skills.Ability to work well with ever-changing priorities and situations.
  • A self-starter who works well with people at all levels of the organization.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

Regularly required to talk and hear; frequently required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, as well as the ability to adjust focus. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
