PHEASANT RUN GOLF CLUB
Variable Hour
Pay Rate: $16.80 per hour
JOB DESCRIPTION
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
The Grill Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items at the grill at Pheasant Run. Responsibilities include preparation of limited items and proper use of large-volume, single-purpose cooking equipment.
EXAMPLES OF WORK: (Note: These examples are intended merely as illustrations of the various types of work performed.)
  • Cleans food preparation areas, cooking surfaces and utensils.
  • Cooks and packages batches of food, such as hamburgers and chicken, which are prepared to order or kept warm until sold.
  • Maintains sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas.
  • Measures ingredients required for specific food items being prepared.
  • Operates large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep fryers or griddle.
  • Prepares specialty sandwiches following specific methods that require short preparation time.
  • Reads food order slips or receives verbal instructions and prepares and cooks food according to instructions.
  • Verifies that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity.
  • Washes, cuts and prepares foods designated for cooking.
  • Cleans, stocks and restocks workstations and display cases.
  • May take and check in the delivery of supplies.
  • Schedules activities and equipment use with managers, using information about daily menus to coordinate cooking times.
  • Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for the kitchen station as directed.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS-KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Minimum age of 18 years old.
  • Minimum of one year of commercial cooking and food preparation experience preferred.
  • ServSafe Food & Alcohol Safety certification preferred.
  • Prior customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to handle money accurately, conscientiously and honestly.
  • Ability to follow directives accurately and thoroughly and work without close supervision.
  • Ability to self-start; demonstrated self-motivation abilities.
  • Ability to clearly communicate procedures, problems and policies with fellow employees and the public in a tactful and courteous manner.
  • Experience with point-of-sale technology preferred.
  • Ability to work a wide variety of shifts, including afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must possess a current, valid Driver's License with a driving history that does not create liability concerns, which include, but are not limited to, convictions for reckless driving, careless driving, suspended license or convictions involving drinking and impaired driving.
  • This is an "At-Will" position. Work assignments and hours are scheduled based on availability, division requirements, and within the confines of the budget. Schedules and work hours are not guaranteed and are subject to change at any time due to division needs, budgeting constraints, and staff availability.
