In this role, you will be a key member of the platform architecture team involved in the development of wireless technologies at all layers through wireless system modeling and simulations.
Description
Wireless technologies have become a crucial part of all Apple devices that delight our customers. Our devices operate in radio environments with various applications, using different wireless technologies. With the latest developments in cellular, WiFi, BT, etc., we utilize a sophisticated simulation platform to study performance of our devices in complicated radio and network conditions. We are looking for an expert wireless systems engineer who has deep understanding of wireless protocol interactions within the network, interactions across different layers of wireless protocols, such as WiFi or BT, and interactions of different technologies within the same device. You will be responsible for modeling the network protocols as well as the effect of the wireless channel and RF interactions of different wireless technologies in the simulation platform. You will also be responsible for providing reference simulations and conducting particular studies using the simulation platform.","responsibilities":"Model wireless system and design in simulation platform.
Design and study performance of new wireless algorithms and protocols.
Work with cross functional teams on requirements for designs and simulation setups.
Make design recommendations on hardware and software implementations based on simulation studies.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with transceiver algorithm design.
Knowledge of wireless systems and protocols such as Cellular/WiFi/Bluetooth, and networking protocols like TCP/IP.
Knowledge of event driven simulations.
Familiar with version control tools.
Knowledge and experience with AI and LLM.
PhD is preferred.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum requirement of a bachelors degree
In-depth understanding in fundamentals of wireless communications.
Understanding of wireless channel propagation and RF design.
Experience with wireless simulation.
Understanding in test-driven and API-driven development methodologies.
Skilled in software language: C/C++/Python.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $120,307 and $210,100 annualized, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
