Job Summary

The Division of Pulmonary Sciences and Critical Care Medicine at the Anschutz Medical Campus seeks highly motivated scientists for fullโ€‘time faculty positions. Candidates will join a collaborative, multidisciplinary team focused on advancing respiratory health applicable to asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cystic fibrosis, lung cancer, pulmonary fibrosis, respiratory infections, and transplant medicine. The faculty member will contribute to a translational airway research program addressing host defense, epithelial biology, and immune responses in the airways. Joint appointments in other basic science departments may be available.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead an independent research program with a wellโ€‘funded portfolio sustained through extramural grant acquisition.
  • Collaborate with basic science and clinical researchers to drive translational research that bridges discovery and application and fosters multiโ€‘investigator programs.
  • Publish innovative research in peerโ€‘reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to trainees and junior faculty.
  • Contribute to the academic mission of the Division through teaching, curriculum development, and service on committees.
  • Participate in established Denver cityโ€‘wide programs that include the University and affiliates.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD degree with at least 2 years of research experience in basic and translational lung immunology, cell biology, or a related respiratory field.
  • Or MD/MDโ€‘PhD with at least 2 years of research experience and completion of a Pulmonary Sciences or Internal Medicine fellowship (ACGME accredited). Must be board eligible or certified in Pulmonary Science or Critical Care Medicine and able to obtain a Colorado medical license with prescriptive privileges by the time of hire.
  • Current or past faculty appointment as an Assistant, Associate, or equivalent in an academic institution (for senior ranks).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellence in research with a proven track record of peerโ€‘reviewed publications and grant acquisition.
  • Expertise in airway epithelial cell and molecular biology, omics approaches, and translational lung research related to the diseases above.
  • Experience with clinical research and bridging basic science findings to clinical applications.
  • Team leadership experience.
