What You'll Do

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will:

  • Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including personal care, meal preparation, housekeeping, and daily routines.
  • Support the development of independent living skills and encourage personal growth.
  • Assist with medication administration in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
  • Encourage participation in community, educational, recreational, and social activities.
  • Monitor individual well-being and respond appropriately to behavioral health or crisis situations.
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and respectful residential environment.
  • Complete accurate documentation, progress notes, and incident reports.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, clinicians, family members, and interdisciplinary team members to support individual goals.

QualificationsRequired
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid Delaware Driver's License.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of acceptable driving history.
  • Ability to meet organizational driving requirements.
Preferred
  • Experience supporting individuals with behavioral health challenges.
  • Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Experience working with individuals with mental health conditions.
  • Experience in residential, healthcare, or human services programs.

Schedule
  • Full-Time and Part-Time Opportunities Available
  • Day, Evening, Overnight, Weekend, and Holiday Shifts May Be Available
  • Weekend Availability May Be Required
  • Participation in emergency or crisis response situations as needed

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach frequently.
  • Ability to assist individuals with daily living activities and mobility support.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull as required.
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to respond effectively during emergency situations.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
