Job description

Position Description
Performs advanced, specialized work in the planning, conducting, and/or supervising of original research at TTUHSC. Responsible for participating in planning, scheduling and/or supervising research projects and the interpretation of the results for publication. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on accomplishment of assigned objectives and overall effectiveness of project. May supervise research and student assistants.
Major/Essential Functions
  • Works closely with principal and co-investigators to manage research project development and implementation.
  • Supervises and coordinates research assistants and students working on the project.
  • Manages primary data collection, assists in the development and maintenance of study-related databases.
  • Monitor participant enrollment and data collection across study sites.
  • Assists with data cleaning, organization, and analysis.
  • Assists with post-award management, including compliance and reporting.
  • Assists with writing and editing of proposals and manuscripts.
  • Manages IRB submissions, correspondence, and compliance.
  • Maintains compliance standards (CITI, HIPPA, etc.)
  • Along with team, tracks project milestones; manages ongoing timeline for milestones.
  • Establishes and maintains rapport with community partners.
  • Works closely with project manager to coordinate and conduct community partner trainings and ensure compliance in research project activities.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
  • A doctoral candidate or PhD in Public Health, social, behavioral, translational, or medical sciences research.
  • Human subjects research experience.
  • Database creation and management.
  • Experience in public health, community health, healthcare setting.
  • Post-graduate teaching in statistics and research.
  • Data analysis and publication experience.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Pay Statement

Required Qualifications
Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) or specialized academic training beyond the bachelor's level in a particular field of science or engineering equivalent to a doctoral degree. Two years research experience. Knowledge of modern research practices, the methods, resources and standards thereof.

It will require background checks, including, but not limited to, criminal history and other security-related screenings. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of these checks.

Visa Information
